Excellent end-of-year results for our trainee combustion systems engineers

Towards the end of last year when we took on three young apprentice combustion systems engineers we could only hope that their progress would be as good as we wanted it to be. Now, after completing the first year of their training we are delighted to confirm that not only have the met our high expectations, but they have actually surpassed them.
Josh Patterson, Charlie Hyde and Tom Bailey commenced their apprenticeship training by attending one of the highly respected Stockport Engineering Training Association (SETA) foundation courses where they embarked on their journey to become qualified combustion systems engineers. Combining classroom learning with practical experience in our own workshops each one of these budding engineers has made remarkable progress. So much so that their end-of-year reports highlighted special commendations including ‘Merit’, ‘Distinction’ and ‘Pass’ awards. These outstanding academic successes along with the exceptional practical progress we have also witnessed fill us with confidence that each one of them will quickly develop to become genuine assets for our company.
Now that they are spending more and more time in our workshops and gaining valuable on-site experience working alongside highly experienced and qualified mentors, the apprentices will surely rapidly become valued multi-skilled members of the Matthews’ team that includes technical designers, production engineers and fabrication technicians along with our off-site installation and maintenance engineers.
As part of their all-round training regime each of our apprentices will be encouraged to gain a wider experience across our full range of combustion systems products; including our acclaimed waste incinerators, human cremation and animal cremation technology.
Once again a big ‘well done’ to our three budding engineers … keep up the good work.
