Our NOVUS™ cremation system has been specified for two important sites
Following on from the critical esteem that accompanied the recent completion and opening of the innovative and impressive Clyde Coast and Garnock Crematorium in Scotland, we are proud to announce that our internationally acclaimed NOVUS™ cremation system has now been approved for a prestigious double contract by Kirklees Council.
Our tender was to replace the aging equipment at both of the council’s crematoria – Dewsbury Moor and Huddersfield. We are delighted to reveal that the council was so impressed by our proposal, our human cremation system design presentation and of course the exceptional value for money we delivered, that they handed both contracts to Matthews Environmental Solutions.
The Dewsbury Moor installation will feature two wide-chamber NOVUS ™ cremation systems. These will be operated through a two-into-one flue gas treatment system that is managed by our Modular Advanced Control System. In addition, the operational efficiency of the cremation system installation will be enhanced by a number of innovative ancillaries. These include a high-speed cremated remains processor and an automated coffin handling system, together with an integrated heat recovery system that is designed to significantly extend the economic performance of the cremation system.
At Huddersfield the installation will include three wide-chamber NOVUS™ cremation systems operating through a three-into-one flue gas treatmentf system. As at Dewsbury, this impressive installation will also include the same impressive catalogue of ancillary technology.
We are delighted that the extensive benefits of our bid were recognised by Kirklees Council. These included not only the many outstanding attributes of our design and manufacture proposals, but the council were also greatly impressed by our recommended layout of the cremation system equipment that clearly demonstrated how it provided ease of operation and maintenance whilst also considering the working environment of those who would be operating the equipment.
Perhaps just as significant was that our internationally proven human cremation system is supported by a 15-year all-inclusive support package that represents a significant and long-term working relationship between the MES team and Kirklees Council. Matthews Environmental Solutions is globally respected for a continuous improvement strategy that supports our philosophy ‘Respect for the Past … Design for the Future’ and this is a business concept that was amply reflected within our tender submission. It was also a significant attribute that was recognised by the council’s research team as they embarked on their extensive procurement process.
“We are thrilled that Kirklees Council share our focus on continuous improvement and our vision for the future. These upgraded facilities will be as much a flagship for Matthews as they will be for our client, so it is exciting for us to be given this opportunity to work in partnership with Kirklees Council to deliver this improvement project for the benefit of the local community.”
