An example of how global co-operation also strengthens our own tailored cremator equipment success
As an important member of the Matthews International Corporation, Todaysure Matthews enjoys the support of a worldwide network of Group companies on whom we can call at anytime. Recently we received a copy of ‘MPressions’, our Group’s corporate magazine, and the following article about how inter-company and international teamwork collaborated to ensure the success of a complex Church re-design and refurbishment project reminded us how by working together we can accomplish extraordinary results. At Todaysure Matthews in the UK our core business is tailored cremator equipment for human and animal remains along with customised waste incineration solutions, but we know that should we require it we have a whole world of international talent and resources at our fingertips.
St Augustine Catholic Church in Signal Mountain, Tennessee wanted to upgrade their grounds and so they contacted Matthews where the Group’s ‘Cemetery Products’ and ‘Architectural Products’ teams worked hand-in-hand to create the re-design.
Part of this design suggestion called for landscaping and the addition of a series of bronze plaques depicting the stations of the cross affixed to existing stone columns and when the St Augustine Church officials saw these plans they were so impressed that they decided to ask Matthews to also upgrade the inside of the Church.
That is when a senior Matthews’ management team came in to co-ordinate the interior and exterior phases of the project, which in turn required a large measure of international co-operation to complete.
The bronze plaques were manufactured in the USA, while another Matthews’ company, Caggiati, in Italy, created the large bronze statue that was placed on an existing cross at the front of the Church. Meanwhile Matthews Granite sourced the India red granite for the baptismal bowl, altar and baptistery.
By working together in this way the Matthews Group was able to accomplish the project to the huge delight of the Church and within the forecast budget.
Here in the UK our own tailored human and animal cremator equipment business as well as our waste incineration solutions often benefit from a similar level of international and inter-group co-operation. This global teamwork also enables is to accomplish difficult and demanding projects all over the world – giving us a unique advantage that is much appreciated by our many customers.
