Modern Funeral Homes
Most of us will undoubtedly have attended a funeral service held in a crematorium at some point in our lives, but we doubt whether anyone has ever been to a funeral in such a lavish location as this new funeral home in Mexico. Whilst most UK crematoria are owned and operated by local authorities and have a certain air of somber respectability about them, the Memorial Veracruz is taking style and opulence to a new level. Now we’re wondering whether this is the way that future crematoria in Britain will also go.

The Memorial Veracruz, located in Veracruz, Mexico is the brainchild of two local businessmen who have recognised the growth and potential in Mexico and in particular their local region. So much so that they decided to enter the industry in a BIG BIG way. Naturally, wanting nothing but the best for their new venture, they came straight to Matthews, the global leaders in human cremation technology development for the actual cremation plant itself and after detailed discussion with our specialist team they chose a PP11+, which they then had customised with a distinctive scenic graphic.

With an eye to the future the owners have also allowed space for a second cremator.
As you can see, funeral homes such as this one are a far cry from the crematoria we are used to in the UK. Some people may say that this new approach is way over the top. On the other hand others may comment that luxurious and comfortable surroundings such as those at Memorial Veracruz offer a far more compassionate and fitting venue when you come to say your final farewell to a loved one.
The Memorial Veracruz funeral home has been developed to attract a large number of funeral services together with all the accompanying mourners and no expense has been spared to provide what could be described as the ultimate funeral venue. Unlike traditional crematoria buildings funeral homes such as this also include large banks of private ‘family vaults’ where the ashes of the deceased can be laid to rest, thus providing a focal point within luxurious surroundings where families can gather, say on significant anniversaries, to pay their respects to their departed relatives.

Maybe in years to come we will see the growth of funeral homes such as this in Britain. Maybe … maybe not. One thing is certain though, whether the industry (and society) follows this concept or not, Matthews human cremation technology will continue to play a major role in what has to be a continuously evolving and developing market
