How our latest installation expertly combines horse cremation with small pet cremation chambers
It is always exciting to be handed a new challenge, but when the project in question also comes from an existing and highly delighted customer then the satisfaction is doubly rewarding. That is exactly what happened recently when one of our long-standing customers, who operates a highly successful pet crematorium business, came back to us with plans to expand his operation by introducing an additional cremation system. Not without challenging us. The new cremation plant needed to combine an extra-large horse cremation chamber along with four smaller chambers that were suitable for cats and small dogs.
Our designers just couldn’t wait to get their teeth into this tricky challenge, but thanks to their exceptional experience and vast knowledge of animal and pet cremation technology they once again came up trumps and were able to provide the perfect solution that satisfied every single one of our customer’s requirements.
At the heart of this complex system is a Surefire® SA50/3 Equine Cremator that was customised by increasing both the diameter and length of the chamber dimensions so that it would easily accommodate the largest horses.
This multi-chamber configuration was also bespoke designed to include four cat chambers, two of which were specially tailored with a larger diameter, enabling our customer to meet the needs of owners of small dogs.
Each of these five chambers can be operated independently so that pet owners know that the final journey of their beloved pet will proceed with the utmost dignity and respect and they are also assured that they will receive the correct ashes.
Other modifications that our designers and engineers incorporated into this bespoke system include forced combustion air that is supplied through strategically positioned air inlets to maximise combustion efficiency. Also included is a high capacity secondary chamber designed to minimise and destroy partial products of the combustion process such as carbon monoxide and also containment combustion products such as nitrogen oxides, volatile organic compounds and particulate.
The entire horse cremation and small pet cremation plant has been engineered with high-specification refractory construction, including the doors and chimney, that effectively guarantees minimum heat loss along with many years of maintenance-free operation.
Following the completion and factory testing of the new system, our engineers installed the new plant at our customer’s beautifully located pet crematorium and pet cemetery in Lancashire. The entire structure was custom-designed to fit into the allocated area and was completed as part of the installation process.
We were delighted that our customer once again chose us to resolve what was a challenging project. We are certain that the new horse cremation and pet cremation plant will provide many, many years of trouble-free and efficient service.
