Every aspect of each Novus™ cremator is constructed to the highest possible standards with steel plate casings, reinforced structural steel sections, plus the unique guarantee of quality and confidence that made in the UK provides.
Novus™ cremator systems are designed with a 25-year design and obsolescence life that is reinforced by high-grade refractories operational at 75% – 100% in excess of normally anticipated operating temperatures. Novus™ refractory concrete lined ductwork ensures no maintenance is required within the first 10-years of operation.
Designed to save you money
Matthews Environmental Solutions has designed Novus™ cremators with a unique hot hearth configuration that is designed to maximise efficiency and reduce fuel consumption. Complementing this innovation is a specially designed automatic suction control and positive door seal that prevents uncontrolled tramp air and ensures maximum heat retention.
An additional bonus is that the combustion air fan is fed from a ventilation hood sited above the cremator charge door. The result is that the cremator hall room is then ventilated without the need for any mechanical assistance.
Programmable efficiency
An advanced PLC control system has been developed to optimise efficiencies in the cremation process by automatically reducing both process times and fuel consumption.
Also built into this programmable control console is automatic start up (including pre-heat) and automatic shut down. An advanced facility of remote monitoring and fault diagnosis allows potential system failures to be detected before they occur enabling rapid response and operator assistance should the unexpected happen.

In addition to being extremely energy efficient, fuel-efficient and cost-effective, Novus™ cremation systems are also designed to meet the highest environmental standards.
Low NOx burners are combined with an optimised combustion process that ensures a level of environmental responsibility that not only matches but also exceeds local, national and international legislation.
In addition, the incorporation of long-lasting, high-specification components reduces maintenance costs and any associated waste generation to an absolute minimum.
Planned for flexibility
Because no two buildings are quite the same we have designed the Novus® cremation systems to be fully adaptable. Each installation is a one-off customised configuration specially produced to meet the individual needs of our client and their location.
Where possible we deliver fully constructed systems that can be installed, commissioned and fully operational with the minimum of delay.
Where access is restricted, however, we provide the system in a flat pack form that can be delivered via an opening as small as a pedestrian door ready for rapid assembly and installation by our skilled teams.
