After a busy start to the New Year we’re delighted to confirm that Matthews Environmental Solutions has been commissioned to design and manufacture a bespoke cremator for installation into what will become a £2.5 million state-of-the-art crematorium now under construction in North Ayrshire, Scotland.
As one of the UK’s leading human cremator manufacturers, Matthews was selected by Respect Crematoria to provide the latest human cremation technology for their new facility, which is currently being developed within the stunning Ayrshire countryside, while offering greater convenience and the highest standards of comfort and tranquillity for the local community.
After holding many discussions with Respect Crematoria we have designed a bespoke cremator based on our acclaimed Novus Human Cremation systems. Designed specifically to meet the demanding requirements of the new crematorium, it will incorporate the very latest human cremation technology, including the most advanced abatement systems to ensure that only the highest standards of clean, odour-free emissions are vented to atmosphere. The new cremator will also be manufactured to satisfy the very latest and most stringent EU and Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) regulations.
Respect Crematoria has worked extremely closely with Matthews’ design engineers to guarantee the exact technical specifications appropriate for their new enterprise and to ensure that the performance levels will more than meet the critical standards they are demanding.
The inspired design concept of the new crematorium will ensure that it effortlessly blends into the surrounding parkland thanks to the use of advanced building technology incorporating the extensive use of glass and natural materials, including locally quarried stone and timber. When completed it will accommodate 160 mourners in seated comfort and will also incorporate a large, open-plan internal reception area that is equipped with HD digital audio and LED screen should extra capacity be required. Funeral services will also be available to view via the Internet for people unable to attend.
Jeremy Hamilton, from Respect Crematoria said: “For us, it is vitally important to have the most technically and environmentally advanced equipment, not only because of increased legislation, but because it is absolutely crucial that families are given the very highest levels of care. By working closely with the team at Matthews, we know that we have the best and most environmentally advanced cremator and abatement technology available.”
As leading human cremator manufacturers we are delighted to be involved with what will undoubtedly become a landmark development in crematoria innovation.
