Don’t worry; our incinerator system technology will still meet the world’s most stringent standards
It is a question that has cropped up quite frequently recently by existing customers and potential customers who are concerned that when the UK leaves the European Union at 11 pm on Friday 31st January all our waste incineration technology, and that also includes pet cremation and human cremation systems, will suddenly become non-compliant. Well, you can relax. The simple answer is that the compliancy of our world-renowned incinerator system technology will not be affected by Brexit. You can rely absolutely on that any equipment designed and engineered by Matthews Environmental Solutions (MES) will still remain one hundred per cent compliant with all the British, EU and other major international safety and environmental standards and regulations.
In a nutshell, as far as compliance is concerned, nothing will change from 1st February 2020. MES incinerator system technology will still be designed and engineered in the UK to world-renowned British standards. Where appropriate the incinerator system technology is also designed and manufactured to comply with the most rigorous global environmental standards, including the EU Industrial Emissions Directive (IED) 2010/75/EU, EU Waste Incineration Directive (WID) 2000/76/EC and the US Environmental Protection Act (EPA). All our incineration system technology will continue to fully comply with the standards of the UK Secretary of State Guidance Notes PG5/3 (12) and the most recent version of the EU Animal By-Products Regulations 1069/2009.
As things stand at the moment, as from 1st February 2020 there is an agreed ‘transition period’ that is scheduled to expire at the end of the current year. Britain also has a two-year window in which to negotiate final terms of withdrawal.
The main point to remember is that the UK will continue to abide by EU rules. Even after the conclusion of the ‘transition period’ because so many of our waste incineration, pet cremation and human cremation system sales are from EU countries and other worldwide nations who will still demand compliance with international environmental safety and other standards, then you can rest assured that any incinerator system technology that is designed and manufactured by MES, is and always will be, one hundred per cent compliant with all relevant British, EU, US and other global standards and regulations.
Whatever lies in store after Britain’s departure from the European Union, at MES we feel totally assured and confident about the exciting prospects that are about to open for us.
