Recognising our contribution to industrial waste management
Every year the local authority of Tameside, where our head office and workshops are located near Manchester, England, organise their Local Business Awards competition. It is called ‘Pride of Tameside’ and although it may be restricted to businesses that are based within the borough of Tameside, nevertheless each year it is keenly contested and success is seen as a major achievement for the winning businesses – not only throughout Tameside but across the whole of the North West of England. This year we entered ourselves into two of the major categories and last week we were delighted to learn that thanks to our outstanding contribution to global industrial waste management and of course our commitment to our local community and economy, Matthews Environmental Solutions has been shortlisted for both categories entered.
The first of the categories in which we have been shortlisted is Manufacturing & Engineering Business of the Year. Here we will be competing for the title against a number of substantial and highly regarded companies. However, thanks to our hard earned international reputation for outstanding design innovation, together with our exceptional standards of engineering expertise, plus of course our impressive order book for waste incineration, pet cremation and human cremation technology we are more than hopeful that we will be successful.
The second category that we are competing in is the Export Award. Once again, although we are pitched against strong opposition we are rightly proud of our extensive industrial waste management successes that have been achieved with constant new orders coming from countless companies, organisations and authorities based throughout many different countries and across every continent.
The distinguished panel of judges includes many esteemed industry leaders and experts, and while we have so far been successful in making it onto the two shortlists, the actual winners of each category will not be announced until the evening of Thursday 2nd November at a prestigious dinner and awards ceremony to be held in one of the borough’s civic buildings.
Until then we hope that our impressive record of industrial waste management innovation, engineering excellence, enterprising export achievements and our continuing sales success will carry the day.
Watch this space … we’ll let you know the outcome in early November.
