How Matthews Environmental Solutions is adapting to the current crisis
All of us … everyone at Matthews Environmental Solutions, our customers and almost every individual in the world is now experiencing a situation that is unlike anything they have lived through before. Like every other company and organisation, not just in the UK, but all around the globe, we are closely monitoring the impact of the coronavirus (Covid-19) disaster and we are implementing the measures that we feel need to be put into place. This includes following the guidance of the UK government relating to people and businesses. At Matthews Environmental Solutions our teams are working hard to ensure that all our colleagues remain safe and that contact with customers is adapted and modified to ensure as little direct contact, and risk, as possible.
While the situation presents every business with unique challenges, we are all seeking ways to ensure that operations continue uninterrupted for the benefit of our customers, our staff and for society as a whole. We are committed to maintaining the high standards of our products, services and safety that our clients and our teams expect.
The following points outline the main points that we have considered along with the measures we are taking in response to the situation.
Transmission of Covid-19 within the office
Provision of additional hand sanitisers. Enhanced cleaning regimes. Personnel guidance on Covid-19 symptoms and necessary action. Visitor checklist before entry to premises.
Minimised disruption for personnel
Confirmation of self-isolation procedures including medical advice, explanation of symptoms and necessary action. Home working possibilities and remote working arrangements. Identification of critical persons within the organisation,
Consideration for suppliers
Communication by Matthews Environmental Solutions to all key suppliers to confirm their in-house arrangements and request for rapid updates of Corvid-19 problems that could impact on our delivery schedules, enabling us to keep clients fully advised.
Customer sales meeting and visits
Minimisation of face-to-face client meetings and visits plus the increased use of audio-video conferencing communications.
Project planning
Ongoing discussions with clients to support their business continuity plans, we request continuous dialogue with Matthews Environmental Solutions to ensure that we can rapidly meet client requirements as they evolve. Planned on-site personnel schedules to protect staff involved in commissioning and maintenance activities. Client training to allow self-commissioning where possible. Pro-active client discussions regarding the possibility of disruption to on-site work and increased manufacturing timetables.
Servicing and Maintenance
Communication and risk assessment prior to project site attendance to confirm no on-site Covid-19 risks. Confirmation of client’s on-site hygiene measures.
Enhanced security
Robust security measures at both Matthews Environmental Solutions sites to prevent any increased risk of intrusion, theft and damage to technology and equipment should a temporary shutdown be necessary.
This is a unique and very fluid situation that we recognise is constantly changing. At Matthews Environmental Solutions therefore we have prepared a flexible strategy that can be quickly adapted to meet the requirements of any developing circumstances. If any unforeseen changes are likely to impact on our business arrangements we will advise all clients and suppliers without delay.
