Will our modern incinerator success be enough to win over the judges?
This Friday, the 9th February, is when the panel of judges presiding over the Greater Manchester Business Awards 2018 will announce their decisions. As we reported early last month, Matthews Environmental Solutions has been shortlisted as a Finalist for Business of the Year and we will be attending the Awards Dinner at the very imposing Radisson Blu Edwardian Hotel in the centre of Manchester on Friday evening with high hopes that our impressive achievements within the international modern incinerator market have been enough for us to capture this coveted award.
Having originally presented our written submission and impressed the selection committee sufficiently to warrant progress onto the short list, we then found ourselves pitted against formidable competition in the shape of four of the most successful Manchester-based organisations.
Phase two of the judging process was even more intense when the following week Elliott Jones and Karen Scholfield faced a stiff interrogation by the judges that was conducted via a video link. The questions we were asked were extremely testing as the panel probed into every aspect of our modern incinerator success.
Not only did the judges want to know all about our outstanding sales record around the world, they also interrogated us about our technical developments, our innovative design and build achievements, plus of course they were keenly interested to learn more about our business philosophy regarding our staff, our customers, our environmental policies and understandably our future ambitions for the company and its people.
The judges were particularly keen to know more about our range of modern incinerators, including the advances we have made in waste incineration technology, together with our successes in the international pet cremation and human cremation sectors.
Equally they quizzed us on our marketing activities, our global network of agents and how well we were prepared to maintain what has been an impressive period of international growth and success after the conclusion of the Brexit negotiations.
We do not yet know what the judge’s decision will be on Friday. What we do know, however, is that whether we will win the title of Greater Manchester Business of the Year or finish up being one of the runners up, as one of the world’s leading designers and engineers of modern incinerators we have established an impressive international record of success and achievement of which we are immensely proud.
Let’s hope that the panel of judges was equally as impressed!
