How continuous development plays a critical role in our UK incinerators success
Matthews Environment Solutions has been internationally respected as the worldwide market leader for the design and manufacture of waste incinerators, plus human cremation and pet cremation technology for many years. Such success however, has only been possible thanks to our unwavering dedication to progress and an unquenchable appetite for continuous improvement. Consequently, we place enormous emphasis on our on-going UK incinerators product development programme. A process that has generated a significant number of innovative technical breakthroughs across all our many markets that have since gone on to become acknowledged as the recognised industry standard for excellence.
It is not only our flair for design and engineering high standards that keeps us at the very forefront of incinerator technology, what is equally important is the effort and endeavour we put into developing the most important element within our production activities … our personnel!
One of the latest initiatives we are currently working hard to achieve is OHSAS certification. We see BS OHSAS 18001: 2007 (Occupational Health & Safety Management) best practice certification as being a vital part of our people development plans.
So as part of our drive to obtain this coveted certification members of our staff are currently undertaking a number of significant training courses.
- Our engineers are continually renewing their Gas Safe Register.
- Nine staff members are booked onto a forklift training course. Some of these will be undertaking refresher courses to renew their certification, while others will be gaining the qualifications that are necessary to obtain their forklift truck licence.
- Two of our team recently attended First Aid courses and have renewed their certifications. Having these valuable life skills available is reassuring should they ever be required on-site, but equally they also provide worthwhile knowledge and confidence should they ever be required throughout the wider community within which we live.
- In addition to these essential H & S qualifications one of our financial administrators is also attending an Export Documentation Course with the Manchester Chamber of Commerce.
It is only by regularly reviewing and improving our personnel skills that we can continue to retain our status as the UK incinerators driving force and our position as the international market leader.
