The day Matthews’ future global leaders came to study our waste management strategies.
A little over a week ago, on Thursday 10th October, we were delighted to host a key meeting with MAP as part of their Leadership Development Programme. MAP stands for ‘Matthews Accelerated Programme’ and the visitors, comprising future enterprise leaders, were holding their Mid-Point session here in the UK. As part of this intensive programme, they were scheduling a number of face-to-face meetings and requested that they would like to visit Matthews Environmental Solutions sites to network with local managers and to gain a better understanding of our own international role along with our successful waste management strategies.
The MAP team consisted of a number of key managers from different Matthews International Corporation companies. These included: Jim Cook, Director of Field Operations, SGK Brand Solutions – Americas; Michael Duffy, Global Creative Director, Equator; Rocky Habel, Senior Director, Finance & Corporate Development – Memorialization; Thomas Hackfort, Vice Global Manager, R&D Engineer – Saueressig Engineering; Rachel Johnson, Client Partner, SGK Brand Solutions – Americas; Dave Reeves, Vice President & General Manager, Applied Technologies Group – Industrial Automation Division; Gerrit van der Veen, East Cluster- Saueressig Poland & Russia; Alex Vera, Agency Executive, Vice president, IDL; Bill Wilson, Senior Director, Finance & Corporate Development – Matthews International.
The aim of this Mid-Point meeting was to enable the delegates to familiarise themselves with Group companies such as Matthews Environmental Solutions; to understand the role we play in the international market and to discuss the growing success of our waste management strategies. The MAP group members also wanted to have opportunities for peer review of how the MAP programme was progressing.
We were delighted to welcome everyone to our newly appointed Wharfingers House for a group presentation that fully explained our own operation along with an intensive Question and Answers session. The MAP cohorts also enjoyed a tour of our engineering workshops and design studios where they were able to see at first hand the full extent of our bespoke and customised design and manufacturing activities including waste incineration, pet cremation and human cremation systems.
Following on from this informative and enjoyable Mid-Point session we are delighted to receive a message from Kimberly Oakes, the Group’s Senior Manager, Global Talent and Leadership Development, thanking us for our hospitality, the information we provided and the opportunity to meet our team.
